Saturday morning I was up early to get the kids ready, as I was asked to pack for them the previous day. Because of Ermioni's sea-sickness they had booked a villa for us at Leonidion, according to Dorah a beautiful holiday resort. My enthusiasm was a bit damped when the old Ya-Ya arrived on the Friday night, and I realised that she was going to accompany us to Leonidion.  But all did not go well that morning, as Nikos was not in the mood to get up yet, and where I knew just how to cajole him into getting up, the old Ya-Ya put Ermioni in my arms, showing me that she would get the sceaming Nikos ready. Disastrous, as she wanted to talk him out of bed, trying to take of his pajamas whenever she could get hold of an arm or leg. But Nikos screamed for me, and if the old woman had left us, I would have played him out of his bed and into his clothes in no time, as he loved the silly games I played with him.
When Petra the driver arrived I had Ermioni ready, but the others were also leaving the same time for the Yacht, and their driver was already waiting downstairs. Then Nikos spat the old woman a pot-shot on her chin, and while she was raving and ranting I took my chance to dress him. From the outset I could see that Petra and the Ya-Ya were not on a good footing, and when I saw an unholy gleem in her eyes when the child deposited his spit on the grann's chin, I caught her eye and we started to giggle. The Ya-Ya, who knew she had lost a bit of face, started giving orders to Petra in an authoritative tone of voice, but the driver just kind of ignored her, not in an ugly way, just firmly. At last our luggage was in the car, and then the Ya-Ya set her attention on me and Ermioni, and she unpacked everything I had packed for the journey, and I was bally raving, as she stashed another about five cups of yoghart in, as well as some more bottles of baby food. I could kill her, for I had worked out exactly what the child would need. Then our journey of hell started, with Gran sitting in the front, and from the start she tried to tell Petra how to drive. I was not looking forward to this long drve at all!!!
